Real Life Screenshot Marathon - Final Round

Hello everyone

Finally it's time for the final round! Are you ready?

What is the final round about?
The final round starts on Sunday, 5th August 2012. 3 subjects will be announced in the announcement thread. After that, you have to make 3 photos, one for every subject, and post them in your thread until 12th August 2012. The remarks from above have still to be noted.
This time, not only your photos has to contain the subject, but they have to be as creative as possible as well, because the subjects are things out of the game and don't exist in the real world. Then, a jury will rate all photos and decide a ranking for each of the 3 subjects. With those 3 rankings, the final ranking will be formed.

So the most important things are:
- you have time until the end of 12th August 2012!
- all rules are still active (one has to see your name etc)!
- you have to post the photos in YOUR thread!

Remember that you don't even have to do every subject! So if you can't do one out of the three, don't give up!

What will be rated?
We'll rate your photos on the basis of creativity (since those subjects don't exist in the real world) and how good one can recognize the subject on your photo.
Furthermore two subjects are only themes. There you can choose what you want to photograph. So we'll rate the level of difficulty there as well.

Example: If you have to make a photo of a Poring and you have a Poring plush toy, making a photo of that toy wouldn't be very creative.

What are the subjects?
It's time to reveal them!

1. The hand statue in Prontera
Image

2. A homunculus (or a homunculus S)
Please note what you've chosen under your photo.
3. An upper head gear
Please note what you've chosen under your photo.

If you have question, don't hesitate and ask them.
Otherwise: I wish you all good luck on your hunt!

Hallo allerseits

August 2012!

Dort kannst du wählen, was du fotografieren willst.

1. Die Handstatue in Prontera
Image

2. Ein Homunkulus (oder ein Homunkulus S)
Bitte notiere unter deinem Foto, was du gewählt hast.
3. Ein upper Headgear
Bitte notiere unter deinem Foto, was du gewählt hast.

Wenn du Fragen hast, zögere nicht und frage sie.
Ansonsten: Ich wünsche euch allen viel Glück auf eurer Jagd!

The final round is over, the decision has been made!
This is the last part of the Real Life Screenshot Marathon, it was a very exciting month and I thank you all for your interest. Now let's see how the results look like... and who was able to win the Marathon!

The following players have entered the final round:
-Funa
-Kyomii
-Marylain
-Myu´
-Semantik

Only four of them were able to make photos, since Marylain didn't take part, she's on the 5th place in the final ranking, so the places 1 to 4 remain!

The Jury in charge of the rating of the photos in the final round consists of 4 members.
Every member had the task to make 3 rankings, one for each subject. So in the end there were 4 rankings for each subject. The final ranking of a subject was formed with those 4 rankings. Accordingly there were 3 rankings after that. The final ranking of the Marathon was formed with those 3 rankings.

Let's start with those 3 rankings, the final rankings of the subjects:
- The hand statue in Prontera
1st - Funa
2nd - Semantik
3rd - Kyomii
4th - Myu´

- A homunculus (or a homunculus S)
1st - Kyomii
2nd - Semantik
3rd - Funa
4th - Myu´

- An upper head gear
1st - Myu´
2nd - Funa
3rd - Kyomii
4th - Semantik

And now let's end the Marathon, it's time for the final ranking of the final round!
1st - Funa
2nd - Kyomii
3rd - Semantik
4th - Myu´

Congratulations to everyone!! You all did a great job and all of your final round photos were stunning. I'm very impressed by your work, your creativity is pretty epic!

With that the entire ranking looks like the following:
1st - Funa
2nd - Kyomii
3rd - Semantik
4th - Myu´
5th - Marylain

6th - ManahLevide
7th - Morgaine_LeFay
8th - Generalmanuel
9th - Erinny
10th - Miss.Mushroom
11th - .crack
11th - Honeypie

You can find the prizes HERE.
Please write THERE how you're available ingame so that I can give you your prize(s). If you don't write anything, I'll just try to contact you from time to time. Remember that I'll give the prize(s) only to the character with the name you used for your thread.

If you want me to delete something, please let me know. If you don't write anything, I'll just delete the photos showing yourself.

Well then, with that the Marathon is over. In the end I have to say that everything went very fast. I hope you all had fun, I myself enjoyed the month. I hope to see you soon again... maybe during another event?

Congratulations to everyone again and thank you very much for your participation.

Congratz to all the winners :)

@ Myu: i am thinking the same as you. I loved some pictures a lot more than the ones on the first places but maybe we are focused to much on personal opinion and not the critique points.
For eg i totally loved the idea of the Headgear of Kyomii so i agree with the ranking of the Headgears. But my first thought for the Homunculus was to make it with Fimo. But i thought of it to be to easy/ not the most creative. Dont understand me wrong i liked kyomiis result for eg but thats just my opinion.

Thank you for this great event :)

Wow, didn't expect that result either. Thought I would be 3rd maybe.
The vanilmirth from semantik was so awesome, I was sure she would get the first price.

Anyway, the event was a greeeeaaat idea, I had really fun.

You can contact me ingame on Kyomii (haha) or Kyola (there I'm most of the time these days)

Thank you Funa and Kyomii, i feel a bit better now :)

Pyuma, is it may possible to ask for a more detailed explanaition why which picture is better than the other? I dont want to ask for a change of the result! i am really happy for the winners even i really had high hopes for the headgear i wanted so badly. The result is done but we may would understand the ranking better than and we can learn for the next events that are like this. I guess you have ranked the Pictures on how close they look to the original and not how creative they are. I expected creativity is the most important. Thats what i understood of your explanation but it seems that was wrong.

Well, first I have to say that we were 4 persons and that a person doesn't see the same photo as creative / difficult as the next person.
Furthermore creativity wasn't the most important point. You can read the following lines in the first post:
"We'll rate your photos on the basis of creativity (since those subjects don't exist in the real world) and how good one can recognize the subject on your photo.
Furthermore two subjects are only themes. There you can choose what you want to photograph. So we'll rate the level of difficulty there as well."
That means that the creativity was as important as the recognition. Plus we have the level of difficulty for subject 2 and 3.
I know that it may be hard, but in the end it was a very, very close call... in the end ranking there was only 1 point between each place. I know that that doesn't make anything better... you all were great, but it needed a ranking. I hope you aren't too sad that you weren't better.

But btw: IF I'll do an event like this again, I'll take a look at how it would be possible to make a final round without such a rating. We'll see.
